My name is Mandy Hirst, I am enquiring about the availability of crofts . My partner Mark and I are interested in moving to any of the Shetland Isles we are looking for a permanent residence, not a holiday home. We possess a variety of skills which could be used to either develop a business on the islands or be integrated into the existing community.

Mark has a talent in art and pottery and hold his PTLLS cert (basic teaching) and I am qualified as both a holistic therapist and a teacher in adult education (Cert.Ed) I presently teach Health & Wellbeing in the community where we live.

We would initially love to croft in the true sense of the word, being self sufficient, but would love to run classes & retreats in our two specialist subjects.

I would be grateful of any details you can let me have, or indeed any contacts you would be prepared to pass on to us to help with our quest, we are prepared to take on an existing building in need of repair or indeed land in need of a building.
Neither of us are afraid of a bit of hard work.

Kind Regards

Mandy Hirst MICHT Cert.Ed

Shetland Crofts

Try Phoning Adamsons in Lerwick and ask for Steven. 01595696788. His partner Chris Horrix used to live in Glen Kindie and he is involved with a property market in Shetland. You could also look at the Shetland Times website as they have a property section.
